To educate knowledge, comprehension, ability, and attitude needed in efficient home life, Home economics education fosters training creative and capable teachers by researching this subject and further contributing to the study of home economics in terms of clothing, food, housing, children, family, and household management.
The Department of Home Economics Education aims to train teachers who have practical and critical abilities by raising their decision making abilities, problem solving skills, and creativity that are necessary to adapt to the modern and future society. For this purpose, the Department offers various courses such as Nutrition, Food Chemistry, Applied Food Science, Practices of Apparel Making, Housing, Pedology, Textile Materials, Family Relationships, Theory of Home Economics Education and Household Economics.
Graduates may pursue careers as secondary school teachers. They may also work for research institutes and private companies.
