Department of Fine Arts
The Department of Fine Arts, established in 1982, offers a well-rounded curriculum cultivated on both knowledge and experience. The department provides a theoretical and practical opportunity to explore and develop ideas with interrelated art study programs. In addition to academic diversity, the university campus, located in close proximity to museums and galleries in Gwangju, has an interactive art environment. The City of Gwangju is well-known for its art heritage and preservation of traditional art-related culture. The city also has a keen interest in contemporary art by hosting the internationally recognized Gwangju Biennale every other year.
Students may obtain positions in/ as: Restoration and Judgment of Cultural Assets, Private Art Institute, Broadcasting and Newspaper Company Related Art Department, Art Gallery Management, Display and Planning, Developing Art Products, Manufacturing Environmental Monument, Producing Video Image Method, and Advertising Media/ Art Administrators, Curators in Fine Art Museum, Professional Designers in companies and Freelancers, Art Teachers at Middle and High School, etc.
