Department of German Language & Literature

In 1995, the two Departments – German Language and German Education – merged into the Department of German Language and Literature. When students become sophomores, they select to begin specialized study either German Language and Literature or German Education in accordance with their future careers.

The curriculum of Department aims at equipping students with skills in communicating in German; understanding German-speaking politics, socioeconomics and cultures; and appreciating German literature. In order to help students to learn effectively, the Department has provided many resources on German Studies and offered major courses including Grammar, Composition, Conversation, History of German Literature, Poetry, Drama, Novel and Introduction to the German Language.
