Clothing and Textiles is an academic discipline mainly concerned with textile materials, designing fashion products, and investing consuming behaviors of people. It acquires a broad and comprehensive understanding of textiles and apparel products based on the knowledge of natural science, technology, art and social science.
The Department of Clothing and Textiles educates students for careers in textiles, fashion designs and production, marketing and merchandising sectors of textiles, fashion industry and business at national and international levels. The programs offer applicative knowledge to the development and use of textile and apparel products. The Department has textile and apparel laboratories equipped with modern instrumentation: Textile Science Lab, Fashion Marketing/ Psychology Lab, Clothing Human Ergonomics Lab, Fashion Design Lab, Clothing Engineering Lab, and Falk Costume Lab.
After completing the required programs, graduates can seek diverse career opportunities in the textile and apparel business sector as a textile designer, textile converter, fashion designer, fashion illustrator, fashion colorer, accessory designer, fashion merchandiser, fashion retailer, fashion promoter, and modelist, etc.
