Department of Political science
Political Science aims to find the best way to realize better political systems in which human beings can manage their lives with happiness and freedom. In this sense, political science is a systematically and theoretically academic major.
The Department of Political Science teaches theories and practices on domestic politics and international relations in general; Researching and analyzing domestic and foreign political phenomena. The Department focuses on educating students who will actively work in various fields in the near future. The Department aims at educating professionals in real politics, as well as researchers for the academic fields. To this end, the Department encourages students to have ideas on methodology and theories to search and understand political phenomena scientifically. To accomplish these purposes, critical examinations of existing theories and introductions to new theories are emphasized. For all these reasons, the Department offers various courses of which the curriculum is divided into four general areas: Political Thought, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Korean Politics.
