Department of Visual Information Design

Visual Information Design means the design for conveying information practically through visual approach. Differently from the communication by written text, it is concerned with non verbal communication such as images and symbols. Once, it was called Commercial Art and Commercial Design later. However the term 'visual' is generally used to call it nowadays. Visual Information Design contains design for commercial design such as posters, pamphlets, advertisements, displays, packages as well as design for public purpose like making traffic signs.

The curriculum of the Department is designed to equip students with general design principles and the ability to utilize, project, analyze and evaluate. The program offers the training for highly qualified designers by through study of visual Information theories and computer-based practice. Students are able to get master's degree on Art at graduate school for systematic research and work on further study in Design and Art institute.
  
On finishing the curriculum of four years, the department have exhibition for students to present their own works and achievements on their real lives instead of presentation of graduation thesis. The course provides students with the scaffold to realize their dreams that love traditional culture and understand modern civilization and art, and want to acquire aesthetic quality that is needed in modern society.

The course provides students with the opportunity to become commercial advertisement designer, advertisement photographer, Broadcast Graphic Designer, Character Designer, Web Designer, Editorial Designer, animator, Design Teacher, Computer Graphic Designer. The program doesn't offer only the chance to work as a designer but also the opportunity to become a design teacher in secondary schools.
